University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Antibiotic Pollution in Aquatic Environments
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar entitled “Antibiotic Pollution in Aquatic Environments: A Global Environmental and Health Challenge within the One Health Concept.”
The seminar, delivered by Dr. Khalida Salem Khudair, focused on the serious impacts of antibiotic accumulation in water.
It addressed the effects of these concentrations on environmental balance and the risk of bacterial resistance, in addition to discussing the One Health concept and global strategies to reduce environmental pollution.
The seminar recommended raising environmental awareness and promoting the integration of research, medical, and veterinary efforts to ensure the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems.
