University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Lecture on Sleep Disorders and Their Health Impact
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture on sleep disorders and their effects on human health and quality of life, as part of its academic and cultural program aimed at raising health awareness among students and academic staff.
The lecture, delivered by Lecturer Hanaa Khazaal Jaber, covered the main types of sleep disorders, including insomnia, sleep apnea, and narcolepsy.
The lecture aimed to promote health literacy and highlight the long-term risks of neglecting sleep disorders, which can lead to chronic health issues such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes.
The lecturer emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent these disorders, including regulating sleep schedules, avoiding stimulants before bedtime, and ensuring a comfortable and quiet sleeping environment. She also stressed the necessity of incorporating these topics into university awareness programs.
