University of Basrah Explores Strengthening Scientific and Cultural Cooperation with the Iranian Consulate in Basra
A delegation from the University of Basrah, headed by Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, the University President, visited the Iranian Consulate in Basra as part of efforts to enhance academic and cultural relations between the two sides and to discuss avenues for joint cooperation between the university and Iranian scientific institutions.
The delegation included several heads of academic departments, and they were received by the Iranian Consul in Basra along with members of the diplomatic mission. During the meeting, the importance of supporting scientific and cultural communication between Iraqi and Iranian universities was emphasized, highlighting its role in advancing the academic movement in both countries.
The meeting also discussed a cooperation project with the Basra Free Zone Authority, aimed at activating programs for cultural and academic exchange among students and faculty, as well as collaboration in scientific research, joint training, and organizing specialized conferences and workshops.
Additionally, the visit included discussions on activating previously signed memoranda of understanding between the University of Basrah and several Iranian universities, ensuring the development of joint academic work and opening new horizons for scientific and research relations that enhance the regional and international standing of the University of Basrah.
