University of Basrah Welcomes Students from Ibn Mirdas Primary School
The Central Library Secretariat at the University of Basrah received a delegation of students and staff from Ibn Mirdas Primary School as part of an exploratory visit to one of the university’s cultural landmarks.
Mr. Ehsan Obeid, Head of Beneficiary Services, stated that the visit included a tour of the library’s halls and the screening of educational and cultural clips aimed at developing students’ skills and introducing them to the history and heritage of Basrah Governorate.
Regarding the visit, the Central Library Director, Dr. Ahmed Rizaq Jaou, explained that students were introduced to the library’s sections, its founding history, and its collection of rare and valuable books representing an important intellectual heritage of Iraqi civilization.
He added that the esteemed Central Library contributes to the sustainability of knowledge and the education of individuals and the Iraqi society, providing essential services to undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as researchers from various Iraqi universities. The library houses books, scientific references, periodicals, and electronic resources that are indispensable for academic research.
