University of Basrah Rehabilitates the Aquaponics Unit as Part of Its Sustainable Development Plans
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah carried out a campaign to rehabilitate the Aquaponics Unit as part of its plans to enhance infrastructure and promote environmental sustainability. The campaign was supervised by Dr. Jalal Mohammed Issa, Director of the Unit, with the participation of several faculty members and researchers.
The initiative aims to improve the efficiency of the integrated aquatic and agricultural system through cleaning tanks and pipes, maintaining pumps, and renewing water circulation. These efforts contribute to advancing scientific research and enhancing students’ practical training.
Dr. Issa explained that the campaign, supported by the College Dean Prof. Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, aligns with the College’s commitment to developing modern aquaponic systems and advancing the University’s role in innovation and sustainability.
