PhD Thesis at the University of Basrah Explores Strategic Options Analysis and Development (SODA)
A doctoral thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, examined the use of the Strategic Options Development and Analysis (SODA) approach to navigate the “Valley of Death” through the mediating role of knowledge recycling.
The thesis, submitted by student Karrar Ghazi Zaidan, aimed to address the knowledge gap and identify suitable pathways for applying SODA to support strategic decision-making.
The study employed a mixed-methods approach in three phases, including the construction of cognitive maps, testing linear relationships using PLS-SEM, and nonlinear relationships through Artificial Neural Networks (ANN).
It recommended enhancing cognitive design and integrating knowledge management with strategic options to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
