University of Basrah Students Conduct Scientific Field Trip to Explore Groundwater Resources
Students from the College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific field trip to the Al-Tayyib area in Maysan Governorate to study different types of groundwater reservoirs.
The trip aimed to familiarize students with the nature of wells and the various types of groundwater, including the formation of aquifers and the distinction between confined and semi-confined reservoirs.
The scientific visit included examining indicators of stratigraphic layering, identifying the structural and geological characteristics of the region, and exploring the tectonic movements it has undergone over time. The trip also introduced students to methods for measuring static water levels in groundwater monitoring wells.
