University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on the Role of Arts in Addressing Family Extremism
The College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah organized an awareness seminar titled “From Violence to Beauty: The Role of Arts in Addressing Family Extremism.”
The seminar aimed to introduce participants to the concept of family extremism, its main causes, and behavioral manifestations, while highlighting the therapeutic and educational role of the arts as an effective means to reduce tension, curb violent behaviors, and enhance positive communication within the family through creative activities.
The seminar, presented by lecturer Ban Mohammed Ali, discussed methods for employing visual and theatrical arts to foster a more interactive family environment, demonstrating how artistic expression can open new pathways for dialogue, understanding, and beauty as an alternative to anger and extremism.
