Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Explores Methods for Estimating the Dirichlet Model
A master’s thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, investigated the use of several statistical methods to estimate the mixed normal Dirichlet model in the presence of missing values.
The thesis, submitted by student Hassan Sami Hassan, aimed to estimate the multivariate probability density function, handle missing data, and evaluate the efficiency of four established estimation methods in this field.
The study proposed a new method named TKDE-IHS, assessing its accuracy and execution time, in addition to applying the best-performing methods to real climatic data.
The results showed the superiority of the TKDE-IHS method in terms of accuracy, while the TBMDE method excelled in execution speed. The study recommended further development of algorithms and the integration of artificial intelligence techniques.
