University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Preventing Cyber Extortion
The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on cyber extortion and methods of prevention.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among students and staff regarding the risks of cybercrimes and the means of protection against them.
The event included several research papers presented by officers from the National Security Directorate and the Directorate of Technology and Information. They highlighted key preventive practices that help safeguard personal data and prevent account breaches, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening digital literacy and the role of early reporting in reducing potential harm.
