University of Basrah Studies Magnesium Deficiency in Buffaloes and Its Impact on Health and Production
A master’s thesis at the University of Basrah investigated “Magnesium Deficiency in Buffaloes and Its Impact on Health and Production in Northern Basrah.”
The study, conducted by researcher Jumana Abdul Reda Abdul Hassan, aimed to diagnose magnesium deficiency through clinical examinations and biochemical tests, determine the relationship between magnesium and other mineral levels, and assess the effect of deficiency on vital signs and various blood parameters.
The thesis recommended intensifying regular magnesium testing programs for buffaloes in Basrah, paying attention to nutritional and mineral management of herds, and implementing field veterinary awareness plans to reduce economic losses and improve animal production.
