University of Basrah Organizes Introductory Seminar on the Veterinary College’s “Friends of the Environment” Committee
As part of its efforts to promote environmental awareness, the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a seminar introducing the Friends of the Environment committee, highlighting key sustainability concepts within the university community.
The seminar, presented by the committee members, covered the committee’s mechanisms and its role in supporting sustainable development projects, as well as ideas to enhance the campus environment. Focus areas included expanding green spaces, increasing tree-planting campaigns, and maintaining the college’s facilities, classrooms, and laboratories.
The seminar recommended increasing green areas within the college, using environmentally friendly materials in daily operations and infrastructure, adopting modern waste recycling methods, reducing reliance on fossil fuels through clean energy, and encouraging students to contribute ideas aimed at building a sustainable university environment.
