University of Basrah Organizes a Lecture on “Drugs and Their Prohibition in the Qur’an and Sunnah”
The College of Education – Qurna at the University of Basrah organized an educational lecture titled “Drugs and Their Prohibition in the Qur’an and Sunnah.”
The lecture aimed to raise students’ awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and to clarify its prohibition based on the religious evidence found in the Holy Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah. It also highlighted the health and social impacts that threaten both the individual and society.
Presented by lecturer Riyadh Abdul-Hakim Hussein, the lecture discussed the destructive effects of drugs, along with the religious proofs that forbid their use and warn against falling into this harmful practice. He emphasized the importance of continuous awareness efforts to curb their spread within the community.
