Scientific Study at the University of Basrah Explores the Torsional Behavior of Fiber-Reinforced High-Strength Concrete Members
A scientific study conducted by two faculty members from the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah — Dr. Mohammed Saber Abdul-Hassan and Dr. Aqeel Hatem Jikhyur — examined the effect of adding hematite powder on the torsional behavior of high-strength, fiber-reinforced concrete members.
The study, published in the international Civil Engineering Journal, aims to investigate the influence of hematite on initial cracking, ultimate torsional strength, cracking patterns, and the angle of twist of high-strength concrete beams reinforced with steel fibers under pure torsion.
