University of Basrah Organizes a Guidance Seminar on Drugs: Between Law and Psychological Counseling
The College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized a seminar titled “Drugs: Between Law and Psychological Counseling.”
The seminar aims to strengthen psychological counseling culture among youth, address behavioral issues, foster effective collaboration with security agencies, and enable students to distinguish between accurate and misleading information.
Presented by Colonel Diaa Nouri Salman from the Basra Police Directorate’s Forensic Evidence Department, the seminar reviewed the legal aspects of penalties, the role of psychological counseling, treatment approaches, and real case studies.
The seminar recommended incorporating lectures on mental health, developing addiction treatment centers, supporting counseling units, and raising family awareness regarding monitoring and guiding children.
