University of Basrah Organizes an Educational Seminar on Drugs
The Center for Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies at the University of Basrah organized an educational seminar titled “Combating the Scourge of Drugs” as part of the 2025 Iraqi Anti-Drug Week activities.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs, their impact on individuals and society, and the importance of taking necessary measures to prevent addiction. It also sought to educate young people about the physical and psychological harms associated with drug use.
The seminar, presented by Colonel Ali Mohsen Hamid, Assistant Director of the Drug Control Department, included a presentation on the types of narcotic substances, rehabilitation programs for treatment, and the addiction recovery centers available in Basrah.
