Part of the Program to Combat the Spread of Drugs: University of Basrah Holds Workshop on Addiction Awareness
The University of Basrah’s University Psychological Counseling Center, in collaboration with the Guidance Unit of the College of Veterinary Medicine, organized a workshop to raise awareness about the dangers of drug addiction.
The workshop aimed to educate participants on the harms of drugs for both individuals and society, highlighting the main psychological and physical effects of substance abuse.
Delivered by the center’s lecturers, Ashwaq Jabbar and Lamia Sobhi, the workshop covered the definition of drugs, reasons for their spread in society, various effects of addiction, associated psychological symptoms, as well as prevention methods and the role of family and community in combating this phenomenon.
