University of Basrah Organizes a Course on Plant Tissue Culture Technology
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah organized a training course on plant tissue culture technology.
The course aimed to introduce participants to the process of producing new plants under sterile conditions through micropropagation techniques outside the living organism.
The course, presented by Dr. Mahmoud Hashim Neama from the Marine Science Center, included a detailed explanation of the concept of tissue culture, its importance in generating disease-free and stress-resistant plants, and the essential requirements for establishing a tissue culture laboratory. It also covered the preparation of growth media and managing various factors to ensure the success of the propagation process.
