University of Basrah Organizes Seminar on Sustainability Techniques in Crop and Livestock Production
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar entitled “Sustainability Techniques to Address Challenges in Crop and Livestock Production.”
The seminar aimed to present the latest methods in agricultural sustainability, focusing on the optimal use of natural resources to maintain soil fertility and regulate irrigation water to enhance the efficiency of crop and livestock production.
Delivered by Dr. Murtadha Abdul Azim and Dr. Asaad Yousif, the seminar highlighted the use of saline water for cooling agricultural shades, greenhouses, and animal pens. This approach contributes to reducing the consumption of water allocated for irrigation and human use, thereby promoting sustainability in the agricultural sector.
