University of Basrah Organizes Seminar on Drugs and Psychoactive Substances
The University Counseling Center, in collaboration with the Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Marine Sciences, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Drugs and Psychoactive Substances: Their Impact on the University Environment and the Role of Society in Combating Them.”
The seminar aimed to raise community awareness about the importance of addressing drug-related issues and their negative effects on youth.
The event featured lectures by Colonel Ali Mohsen, Deputy Director of Basrah’s Anti-Drug Affairs, Dr. Hiba Majid Isa, Director of the University Counseling Center, and Sajjad Sabah Adham Al-Hajami, Director of the Legal Department at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology. The speakers provided in-depth insights into the psychological and social impacts of drugs on individuals and society, emphasizing the multifaceted dimensions of this phenomenon and exploring the issue of drug abuse from all perspectives.
