University of Basrah Welcomes an Educational Field Trip to Enrich Scientific Knowledge
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah welcomed an educational field trip from Noor Al-Jawaden Private School as part of its program of instructional visits designed to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
The visit, which falls within the framework of collaboration between educational institutions, aimed to introduce students to agricultural sciences and their importance in supporting the local economy and protecting the environment.
The tour included visits to scientific laboratories and the Insect Museum at the Department of Plant Protection, as well as the Medicinal Plants and Essential Oils Unit to learn about extraction methods. It also featured stops at the cattle and duck barns in the Department of Animal Production to observe key practices in management and animal care.
The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, emphasized the significance of such visits in fostering awareness and encouraging innovation in the field of food security.
