University of Basrah Holds Sixth International Arabic Language Conference Titled “Transformations of Reading in Language and Literature”
The College of Education – Qurna at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Russian company Lukoil, organized the Sixth International Conference under the theme: “Transformations of Reading in Language and Literature in the Age of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.”
The event was attended by the University’s Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ayman Salih Naama, along with a group of Iraqi researchers and participants from various Arab countries.
The conference aimed to highlight the importance of the Arabic language and the challenges it faces in the digital age, as well as its role in transmitting heritage and knowledge. It also sought to strengthen scholarly cooperation between Iraqi and international universities and provide a platform to explore the impact of technology on language and literature.
The conference featured diverse research sessions addressing topics related to artificial intelligence, computational linguistics, and digital reading, in addition to studies in modern literary criticism, contemporary thought, and linguistics with its digital applications—all contributing to enhanced knowledge exchange and academic collaboration.
