University of Basrah Organizes a Discussion Session on Hydroponics
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah held a discussion session titled “Hydroponics… The Future of Modern Agriculture.”
The session, delivered by lecturer Raghad Sabah Hassan, aimed to highlight the importance of this advanced agricultural approach. It addressed the concept of hydroponics as a sustainable alternative to traditional agriculture, along with its techniques, advantages, and the components of the nutrient solutions used in the system.
The speaker called for further studies in this field to enhance agricultural success and achieve food self-sufficiency, especially in light of population growth. She emphasized the potential of adopting hydroponics in regions with unsuitable or highly saline soils.
