Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Investigates Environmental Factors Affecting Mangrove Growth
A master’s thesis at the College of Science, University of Basrah, examined the environmental factors influencing the growth rates and survival of planted grey mangrove trees along the Shatt Al-Arab coasts.
The thesis, submitted by student Ali Abbas Fadel, aimed to assess the impact of the physical and chemical characteristics of the water and soil in Shatt Al-Arab and Khor Al-Zubair on the success of grey mangrove cultivation, using it as an environmental indicator for the restoration of coastal ecosystems.
The study comprised four chapters, in which the student analyzed the environment and statistically evaluated the factors affecting growth and survival rates.
