Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Effect of Nicotine on Biofilm Formation
A master’s thesis at the College of Science, University of Basrah investigated the effect of nicotine on biofilm formation by bacteria isolated from patients with sinusitis.
The thesis, submitted by student Ghufran Ali Fayrouz, aims to identify the bacterial species responsible for sinusitis and to examine the impact of nicotine on biofilm development in both smokers and non-smokers.
The thesis consists of four chapters in which the researcher discusses the isolation of several pathogenic bacterial species and the role of nicotine in enhancing biofilm formation.
