University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Molecular Techniques in Life Sciences
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on molecular techniques within the Department of Life Sciences.
The workshop aims to introduce the origins of molecular biology by presenting key scientific discoveries related to the structure of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), its chemical composition, and the mechanisms of base pairing.
The workshop included several research presentations in which the participants discussed major molecular techniques used in research laboratories, such as various types of polymerase chain reaction (PCR), methods for determining nucleotide sequences, and gene editing using CRISPR technology.
