University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Cancer Treatment
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on the role of nutrition in the development and treatment of cancer.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of food as a fundamental factor in the onset and progression of many diseases, including cancer.
The event included a lecture delivered by Dr. Noor Abdulrahman, a faculty member at the college, who explained the types of food categories that may increase the risk of cancer, particularly sugars, certain amino acids, specific fats, and red meat. She also noted that other types of foods are essential in preventing and limiting the progression of the disease, such as olive oil, antioxidants, and adherence to specific dietary regimens.
