University of Basrah Holds a Scientific Symposium on the Integration of Humanities and Dentistry
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a scientific symposium titled “The Role of Public Policies in Supporting Dental Health.”
The symposium aimed to highlight the importance of integrating the humanities—particularly the field of public policy—into the development of the dental sector by raising participants’ awareness of how health policies are formulated and their direct impact on the quality of services provided to citizens.
The symposium, presented by Dr. Saeed Kazem Ahmed, included an overview of statistics issued by the Ministry of Health, which outlined the number of dental health centers in Iraq, the services they provide, and the level of government support they receive. It also featured data on the number of visitors over the past two years, the ratio of dentists to the total population, and their distribution across health institutions.
