University of Basrah Organizes Seminar on Drug Structural Modification Strategies
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar titled “Strategies for Drug Structural Modification to Enhance Pharmacological Properties.”
The seminar, presented by Dr. Wasfi Abboud Laibi, explained the concept of modifying the chemical structure of drugs to improve their efficiency, such as increasing their effectiveness against bacteria or enhancing drugs that regulate blood sugar, blood pressure, and other conditions.
The seminar recommended emphasizing the importance of applying strategic methods in preparing drugs and derived compounds, conducting necessary tests for evaluation, initially testing them on laboratory animals, and carrying out other studies to confirm the efficacy of the prepared drug.
