University of Basrah Holds Scientific Lecture on Regenerating Pulp Tissue in Non-Vital Teeth
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a specialized scientific lecture titled “Regeneration of Pulp Tissue in Non-Vital Teeth,” attended by students from various academic levels and faculty members.
The lecture, presented by Lecturer Hiyam Salah, provided a detailed explanation of modern methods for diagnosing and treating immature teeth with non-vital pulp—cases that pose significant challenges for dentists due to the difficulty of managing underdeveloped roots.
The lecture highlighted that pulp tissue regeneration (Regenerative Endodontics) is a relatively recent therapeutic technique aimed at stimulating continued root growth and natural development, in contrast to the traditional method of Apexification, which forms a calcified barrier but halts further root development.
