University of Basrah Holds Scientific Seminar on Raising Awareness of Bacterial Resistance to Antibiotics
The College of Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar on raising awareness of bacterial resistance to antibiotics, attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Nawfal Ali Al-Mubarak, his deputies, several faculty members, and sixth-year students.
The seminar aimed to increase awareness of the dangers of bacterial resistance and the importance of using antibiotics correctly.
The discussions covered the causes of bacterial resistance and its impact on public health, including the overuse of antibiotics and failure to follow prescribed doses. It also addressed preventive measures, such as proper antibiotic use and frequent handwashing.
The seminar recommended enhancing cooperation between healthcare institutions and universities to combat bacterial resistance, as well as developing new strategies to address this growing health challenge.
