Faculty Members at the University of Basrah Publish Book Titled “Barhi: The Palm Queen and the Jewel of Dates”
Two faculty members from the College of Science at the University of Basrah have published a book titled “Barhi: The Palm Queen and the Jewel of Dates.”
The book, spanning 537 pages across 11 chapters and written in both Arabic and English, explores the significance of the Barhi palm, its origin, and its first discovery in Basra. It also covers the journey of the Barhi palm, its global distribution, cultivation methods, care and propagation techniques, processing and packaging methods, as well as the diseases and pests that affect it.
