University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on Antibiotic Awareness
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Basrah Health Directorate, organized a supplementary seminar as part of Antibiotic Awareness Week, entitled “Bacteria and Their Resistance to Antibiotics.”
The seminar aimed to raise awareness of the optimal use of antibiotics and to reduce the risks resulting from their misuse in both human and veterinary fields.
The seminar, delivered by faculty members Jalaa Amer, Du’a Raed Falih, and Alaa Ismail, included scientific presentations addressing the dangers of bacterial resistance to antibiotics and the ways to mitigate this phenomenon.
The seminar concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of fostering an environmentally aware community that recognizes the necessity of understanding antibiotics and the mechanisms for their proper use.
