University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on Building a Responsible and Academically Committed University Community
The College of Education for Women at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled “Building a University Community Responsible Academically and Scientifically” to familiarize students with their rights and responsibilities within the university campus, aiming to foster an environment that reflects the identity of the university student.
The seminar aimed to prepare students capable of distinguishing between rights and responsibilities, highlighting the importance of the university environment, and educating students on preserving public property to reflect a civilized and culturally aware academic setting. It also emphasized that fulfilling obligations toward the campus is not merely a legal duty but a reflection of societal culture and values.
The seminar, delivered by several faculty members, addressed key topics including adherence to official attendance schedules and lecture timings, compliance with academic and university behavioral standards consistent with ethical, religious, and cultural norms, maintaining collegial relationships, interacting respectfully with faculty members to preserve their dignity and authority, and upholding ethical conduct toward the institution.
