University of Basrah Explores Support for Joint Applied Projects with the Directorate of Agriculture
The Palm Research Center at the University of Basrah conducted a field visit to the Plant Tissue Division in Al-Hartha District, affiliated with the Basrah Directorate of Agriculture, to discuss scientific cooperation between government institutions and support for joint applied projects aimed at developing the date palm production sector in the governorate.
The visit aimed to review the current status of tissue culture agriculture in the public sector and identify the main challenges facing this vital specialty, contributing to efforts to advance biotechnologies related to date palm production.
During the visit, a specialized research team from the Palm Research Center observed laboratory procedures and discussed the key technical requirements to enhance the efficiency of tissue propagation programs. The team also provided a set of scientific guidelines aimed at improving production efficiency and optimizing the environmental conditions for plant growth.
