University of Basrah Holds the Evaluation Conference at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences
As part of the University’s commitment to enhancing the quality of its academic outputs, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basrah held its annual evaluation conference for the academic year 2024–2025, under the theme:
“Towards an Integrated Evaluation System that Supports Academic, Research, and Athletic Excellence.”
In his opening address, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim Al-Asadi, affirmed that “annual evaluation is not merely a routine procedure; rather, it is a roadmap that ensures sustainable excellence and consolidates the University of Basrah’s position as a leading institution in building athletic and scientific competencies.”
In the same context, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Al-Lami, stated that the conference focused on several key axes, most notably the academic axis, which reviewed and developed academic curricula to ensure the preparation of qualified graduates for the labor market; the research axis, aimed at enhancing scientific publication in internationally recognized journals specializing in sports sciences; and the athletic axis, which evaluated the performance of university sports teams and developed strategies to strengthen achievements at both local and international levels.
