University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Lecture on the Orthodontic Management of Horizontally Impacted Anterior Teeth
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture entitled “Orthodontic Management of Horizontally Impacted Anterior Teeth.”
The lecture aimed to provide an understanding of the causes of anterior tooth impaction, which may include developmental, anatomical, or genetic factors, as well as the psychological impact on patients due to changes in appearance, difficulty in smiling, and reduced self-confidence.
Presented by Lecturer Roaa Saadoun Hashim, the lecture included a clinical case demonstration in which the impacted tooth was surgically exposed, followed by stepwise orthodontic traction. This approach resulted in satisfactory outcomes for both the patient and the treating clinician, with the tooth restored to its functional position and achieving the desired aesthetic appearance.
