University of Basrah Organizes an Awareness Lecture on Plants for Treating Food Poisoning
The Natural History Museum at the University of Basrah organized an awareness lecture entitled “Plants for Treating Food Poisoning” as part of its scientific and educational activities aimed at promoting health and environmental awareness within the community.
The lecture aimed to introduce the importance of certain medicinal plants in preventing food poisoning, alleviating its symptoms, and highlighting nature’s role in supporting public health through the safe use of therapeutic plants.
Presented by the Museum Director, Dr. Shatha Mohammed Hamza, the lecture covered several key topics, including types of plants with antibacterial and antitoxic properties, their effects on the digestive system, proper preparation and usage methods, and warnings about the risks of indiscriminate use of herbs without consulting specialists.
