University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Lecture on Aquaculture Systems
The Natural History Museum at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture entitled “Closed and Open Systems in Aquaculture” as part of its scientific activities aimed at disseminating specialized knowledge in the fields of environment and life sciences.
The lecture aimed to introduce the concepts and types of aquaculture systems, highlighting the differences between open and closed systems in terms of operational mechanisms, efficiency, productivity, and environmental impact, as well as emphasizing the role of these systems in achieving food security.
Presented by Mr. Ali Mazhar Rahma, the lecture covered several key topics, including the advantages and disadvantages of each system, operational requirements, and the importance of proper management of water and aquatic organisms to ensure sustainable production, while also highlighting the latest methods employed in this field.
This lecture is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the museum to support scientific research and enhance environmental and economic awareness related to fishery resources.
