University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Lecture on Some Results of the Bayesian Panel Data Model
The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah organized a specialized scientific lecture entitled “Some Results of the Bayesian Panel Data Model” as part of its efforts to support scientific and research activities.
The lecture, presented by Dr. Amira Jaber Muhsen, included a theoretical presentation of the panel data model under linear constraints on the model’s coefficients, alongside an explanation of the Bayesian approach to panel data.
Dr. Muhsen also discussed the concept of panel data and its significance in increasing degrees of freedom and reducing multicollinearity among explanatory variables. The study employed a random-effects model, deriving conclusions using the Bayesian approach with a conjugate prior distribution, in addition to analyzing the mathematical properties of both constrained and unconstrained Bayesian estimators.
