A Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Experimental Mechanisms and Discourse Significations in the Works of Artist Kurt Schwitters
A master’s thesis submitted to the College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah examined the mechanisms of experimentation and the significations of discourse in the works of artist Kurt Schwitters.
The thesis, presented by researcher Zainab Ayad Sadiq, aims to focus on experimentation and intellectual discourse in Dadaist art in general, and in the works of Kurt Schwitters in particular.
The study addressed the concept of experimentation as a functional means arising from human needs, through which humanity has discovered many evolutionary characteristics that have gradually transformed human life.
The thesis concluded that the new experimental mechanisms that emerged with Dadaism in general, and in the artistic experiments of Schwitters in particular, shaped his works to play a significant role in aesthetic modernization.
