University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Visit to the Ministry of Trade Warehouses in Al-Hartha
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a scientific visit for fourth-year students to the Al-Hartha warehouse complex التابعة to the General Company for Foodstuffs Trading in Basrah Governorate, as part of the requirements of the Food Processing course.
The visit, conducted under the supervision of course instructors Dr. Wasan Kazem Abdul Razzaq, Dr. Mohammed Ziyara Iskandar, and Dr. Alaa Mohammed Sadkhan, aimed to familiarize students with the mechanisms of storage and distribution of the essential items of the national food basket.
The delegation was received by the Director of the Basrah Branch, Mr. Raed Shaher Lazim, and Dr. Ali Abdul Amir.
The visit included an inspection of rice, cooking oil, and tomato paste warehouses, along with a detailed explanation of storage and supply methods and the procedures for sample withdrawal for testing, thereby enhancing the students’ practical field experience.
