University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Heat Shock Proteins
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on heat shock proteins and their role in human diseases.
The workshop aimed to highlight the functional role of heat shock proteins in maintaining the stability and survival of body cells after exposure to external stress factors, as well as their role in repairing proteins following alterations in their chemical structure.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by faculty member Dr. Hussein Abdul Saud, in which he explained that heat shock proteins function to prevent many diseases that may arise from the accumulation of damaged proteins in the cytoplasm of cells by repairing these proteins and restoring them to their normal state.
