University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Field Trip to Gravel Quarries in Al-Zubair
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific field trip for its students to the gravel and sand quarries and the sieving laboratory in Al-Zubair District.
The trip aimed to enhance students’ practical skills through field observation of the formation mechanisms of sand and gravel deposits and the implementation of field modeling procedures for rock layers.
During the trip, students became acquainted with the types of rocks and geological structures in the area, observed the methods of sorting and processing gravel and sand, and learned about the stages of preparing raw materials for engineering and construction purposes.
