University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on Integrated Pest Management
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar entitled “Integrated Pest Management: A Fundamental Pillar of Sustainable Agriculture.”
The seminar aimed to introduce the concept of integrated pest management and highlight its pivotal role in achieving sustainable agriculture and reducing environmental impact.
The seminar included lectures delivered by Dr. Aqeel Adnan Al-Yousif and Dr. Mohammed Mahdi Mazal, which addressed the core components of integrated pest management, including agricultural, biological, mechanical, and physical control methods.
The seminar concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of accurate monitoring and diagnosis of pests and timely decision-making, contributing to environmental protection, human health, and the preservation of crop productivity and quality.
