University of Basrah Receives an Educational Visit from Al-Haramain Girls’ Secondary School
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah welcomed students from Al-Haramain Girls’ Secondary School as part of a program of educational visits aimed at linking theoretical education with practical applications and strengthening cooperation between educational institutions.
The visit sought to introduce the students to agricultural sciences and highlight their importance in supporting the local economy and the environment.
The program included a field tour of the college’s facilities, covering laboratories and the Insect Museum at the Department of Plant Protection, the Medicinal Plants and Aromatic Oils Unit to learn about extraction methods, the educational livestock barns of the Department of Animal Production, and the University’s Food Industries Laboratory.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, emphasized that such visits contribute to raising awareness of agricultural disciplines and encouraging innovation in food security fields among the younger generation.
