University of Basrah Participates in PAO Workshop to Address Climate Change
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah participated in a workshop titled “The Role of Civil Society in the Integrated Process of Addressing the Effects of Climate Change,” organized by the Popular Aid Organization (PAO) under the supervision of the Prime Minister.
The college presented a paper titled “The Role of Scientific and Academic Research in Engaging Civil Society with Practical Solutions to Mitigate the Impacts of Climate Change on the Agricultural and Environmental Sectors,” prepared by the Dean of the College, Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed, and Dr. Mohsen Abdulhay Dashar, Director of the Agricultural Advisory Office. The paper was delivered by Dr. Mohsen Abdulhay on behalf of the Dean.
The paper highlighted the importance of scientific research outputs in developing sustainable practical solutions that support food security and reduce environmental degradation.
The Dean’s office affirmed its readiness to cooperate with government bodies and civil society organizations, with the participation of a distinguished group of the college’s academic staff.
