University of Basrah Organizes a Festival Celebrating Arabic Language Day
The College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized the Fifth Annual Al-Dhad Festival in celebration of International Arabic Language Day.
The festival included several speeches in which participants highlighted the remarkable capacity of the Arabic language to confront a range of challenges, including aspects of phonetics, linguistic inimitability (i‘jaz), and the historical transition from polytheism to monotheism. They also discussed how the Arabic language addressed these challenges through a highly organized, precise, and expansive process of composition.
