A PhD dissertation at the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, examined the effect of replacing soybean meal with Azolla, supplemented with a synergistic and fermented mixture, on the productive and qualitative traits of local duck carcasses.
The dissertation, submitted by researcher Jalila Hatem Khalaf, aimed to evaluate the impact of fermented and supplemented Azolla (probiotics + beta-glucan) in the diets of local ducks, and its effects on productive performance, meat chemical composition, certain biochemical and microbial indicators, as well as the quality of frozen-stored meat.
The study concluded that fermented Azolla represents a promising nutritional alternative that contributes to improving performance, productivity, immunity, and meat quality.
