Within the Framework of Environmental Sustainability, the University of Basrah Organizes a Panel Discussion on Mechanisms for Producing Organic Fertilizers
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a scientific panel discussion entitled “Production of Organic Fertilizers and Their Environmental Impact,” in line with the University’s orientation toward supporting the concepts of environmental sustainability and sustainable agriculture.
The session, delivered by Dr. Anaa Dawood Khamas, aimed to highlight the importance of organic fertilizers in improving the physical and chemical properties of soil, enhancing the availability of nutrients, and increasing water retention efficiency, in addition to their role in reducing carbon emissions and limiting pollution resulting from the excessive use of chemical fertilizers.
The discussion emphasized that the production of organic fertilizers represents a safe and environmentally friendly strategic option that contributes to protecting natural resources and achieving high-quality agricultural production.
